Azerbaijan, Türkiye deepen military education cooperation Photo
A senior delegation from the Turkish National Defence University, led by Vice-Rector Professor Serdar Salman, held discussions in Baku aimed at strengthening joint military education, training, and institutional cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
During meetings at the Azerbaijan National Defence University’s War Games Center, Azerbaijani officials highlighted ongoing reforms in the country’s military education system and the role of the Azerbaijani-Turkish alliance in shaping modern training standards, Caliber.Az reports per Defence Ministry.
Major General Arif Hasanov said the partnership—rooted in what both sides describe as fraternal and allied ties—continues to deliver “tangible benefits” for curriculum development, officer training, and joint research.
Professor Salman emphasised that regular exchanges between the two defence universities are critical for sharing experience and expanding collaboration across academic and operational fields. He thanked Azerbaijani counterparts for what he called a constructive and hospitable working visit.
The Turkish delegation received a detailed briefing on the history, structure, and scientific activities of the National Defence University and its associated institutions, including updates on training programs and modernisation initiatives. The sides also discussed future avenues for cooperation, with questions of mutual interest addressed at the session.
Before the official meetings, the delegation visited the Alley of Honor, the Alley of Martyrs, and the Turkish Martyrs’ Cemetery, laying wreaths in tribute to national leaders and fallen soldiers.
