Northern Cyprus President arrives in Azerbaijan ahead of ECO summit in Khankendi Photo
President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ersin Tatar, has arrived in Azerbaijan for an official visit, according to a statement from the Turkish Embassy in Baku.
Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov and Turkish Ambassador Birol Akgün welcomed Ersin Tatar at the airport, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Ersin Tatar is set to take part in the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) member states in Khankendi.
Azerbaijan will host the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) on July 3–4, 2025, in Khankendi, signalling its growing role in advancing regional integration and sustainable development.
Ahead of the summit, ECO Week is being held across several Azerbaijani cities from July 1 to 4, featuring key forums on youth, gender, and economic connectivity.
The Youth Forum in Aghdam (July 1) and Women’s Forum in Lachin (July 2) focus on inclusive development and climate resilience, while the 6th ECO Business Forum in Fuzuli (July 2) will explore trade and investment as drivers of sustainable growth in the region.
