Azerbaijani, Pakistani top officials discuss Islamabad blast in call Updated
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has conveyed condolences to Pakistan following a deadly terrorist attack on a mosque in Islamabad, reaffirming Baku’s support for Islamabad in its fight against terrorism.
According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bayramov expressed his deepest sympathies to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of Pakistan, during a telephone conversation on February 7 with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar. He strongly condemned the attack and underscored Azerbaijan’s consistent stance against terrorism in all its forms, Caliber.Az reports.
The two ministers also reviewed the state of bilateral relations, discussing various aspects of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. They exchanged views on the implementation of previously reached agreements and addressed issues related to regional and international security.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation and maintaining close coordination on matters of mutual interest.

Bayramov conveyed condolences on behalf of the Azerbaijani president, government, and people over the victims of a recent blast in Islamabad, and expressed solidarity with Pakistan. He strongly condemned the attack and offered prayers for those affected.
Dar thanked his counterpart for the message of support and reiterated Pakistan’s determination to continue its efforts to combat terrorism, according to the statement.
The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest and reaffirmed the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
At least 31 people were killed, and 169 others were wounded with injuries of varying severity in a terrorist bombing at a Shiite mosque in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad on February 6.
