Azerbaijan champions intercultural dialogue at UN summit PHOTO
An Azerbaijani delegation participated in a high-level panel discussion at the United Nations headquarters in New York as part of World Interfaith Harmony Week.
Deputy Minister of Culture Farid Jafarov delivered remarks underscoring Azerbaijan’s contributions, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, to fostering peace and stability both regionally and globally. He emphasized the significance of the “Baku Process” as a key international platform for promoting intercultural dialogue, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
During the visit, the delegation held meetings with senior UN officials, including Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs Felipe Paullier and UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations Miguel Ángel Moratinos, among others.
The discussions focused on enhancing the participation of youth and women in cultural initiatives and advancing cooperation through the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, reflecting Azerbaijan’s commitment to inclusive and multilateral engagement in global cultural affairs.
World Interfaith Harmony Week, which celebrates mutual respect and understanding among different faiths, will run until February 7.
