Azerbaijan, UN General Assembly discuss closer parliamentary cooperation
President of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Khalilur Rahman, and Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (parliament), Sahiba Gafarova, discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between the two institutions.
In a post on X, Rahman said the meeting, which took place in New York, also covered other issues of mutual interest, Caliber.Az reports.

“I had the pleasure of meeting with H.E. Mrs. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
We discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the United Nations General Assembly and the Milli Majlis, as well as with parliaments around the world, institutions that represent the voices and aspirations of their peoples. We also exchanged views on a range of matters of mutual interest,” he wrote.
