Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov has held a meeting with David Allen, US Chargé d’Affaires in Armenia, and Amy Carlon, US Chargé d’Affaires in Azerbaijan, during which the sides discussed steps toward normalising relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated.

The ministry outlined that the officials focused on advancing the peace process, ensuring long-term and sustainable peace, and strengthening stability and security in the region, Caliber.Az reports.

“The meeting also included an exchange of views on the outcomes of Mammadov’s visit to the United States on the occasion of the anniversary of the Washington Peace Summit and the trilateral statement signed there, as well as efforts to implement the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) and the establishment of the TRIPP Development Corporation, which will oversee the construction of infrastructure related to the route,” the report noted.

The sides also reviewed Azerbaijan-US bilateral relations and prospects for future cooperation in areas outlined in the Strategic Partnership Charter.
