Baku hosts conference on security and cooperation in South Caucasus PHOTO

An international conference on “Security and Cooperation in the South Caucasus” is being held in Baku on September 8 with joint organisational support from the Centre for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Centre) and the Centre for Governance and Culture in Europe (GCE-HSG).

The conference focuses on the future of security and cooperation in the South Caucasus, developments in the region since the 44-day war, the expansion of transport and communication links, new infrastructure projects, economic integration, the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, potential external risks, and the European Union’s role in strengthening sustainable cooperation and connectivity in the region, Caliber.Az reports per state media.

Participants are also exchanging views on the new geopolitical and geo-economic realities taking shape in the South Caucasus, the impact of transport and communication projects on regional security and economic development, and prospects for expanding regional cooperation.

Ensuring lasting peace and cooperation in the South Caucasus is also high on the agenda, along with creating new connectivity opportunities and integrating the region into international transport routes.
