Georgian media spotlight Azerbaijani president’s Abu Dhabi visit PHOTO
Georgian media have published a series of reports on Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
Georgia’s only state-run Azerbaijani-language newspaper, Gürcüstan, as well as websites including 1tv.ge, qafqazturk.com, and radiotavisupleba.ge, covered the President’s participation in the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity ceremony, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The outlets also reported on the meetings President Aliyev held during his visit.
The coverage underscores the regional interest in Azerbaijan’s diplomatic engagements and its ongoing efforts to strengthen international relations.
On February 3, the ceremony in Abu Dhabi was attended by Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan, following the initialling of the landmark Azerbaijan-Armenia Peace and Interstate Relations Agreement, which ended decades of conflict.
World leaders conveyed congratulations and support, recognising both the historic accord and the joint receipt of the award.
The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, established in 2019 by a declaration signed by Sheikh Ahmad Al-Tayeb, Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, and the late Pope Francis, honours efforts promoting tolerance, coexistence, and humanitarian values inspired by UAE founder Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
