Uzbek president to attend opening ceremony of new park in Baku
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in a groundbreaking ceremony for a new "Uzbekistan" park in Baku as part of his state visit to Azerbaijan.
The announcement was made by Sherzod Asadov, Press Secretary to the President of Uzbekistan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Uzbek media.
“President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has begun his state visit to Azerbaijan. During the visit, the head of our state will travel to Baku, Khankendi, Shusha and Aghdam,” the statement read.
Asadov confirmed that the presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are scheduled to hold the second meeting of the High-Level Intergovernmental Council on June 2 in Baku.
The two leaders will also lay the foundation stone for the new "Uzbekistan" park and inaugurate the newly constructed building of Uzbekistan’s Embassy in the Azerbaijani capital.
“Tomorrow, Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev will continue their discussions in the Karabakh region, where they will visit a jointly-established textile factory in Khankendi and the historic architectural complex of ‘Imarat’ in Aghdam. A substantial package of industrial cooperation agreements has been prepared in advance of the visit,” Asadov added.
