A meeting between representatives of the Azerbaijani Health Ministry and Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld has been held in the ministry.
After welcoming the guests, Azerbaijani Minister of Health Teymur Musayev congratulated Auld on his appointment as UK’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, the ministry told Caliber.Az.
The minister noted that Azerbaijan-UK relations have a dynamic development trend.
He added that there are multifaceted rational relations between our countries, covering many spheres.
In his speech, Musayev noted that the healthcare sector in the UK is at a very high level, while the UK’s National Health Service is one of the most efficient ones in the world.
“UK’s medicine is distinguished by the introduction of innovative medicines into clinical practice and highly professional training medical personnel. Moreover, medical universities are famous for the quality of education and the highly qualified specialists. Thus, three medical schools in the UK are in the top ten rankings of the best medical universities in the world,” the minister said.
Emphasising the important role of middle and junior medical personnel in the sustainable development of the healthcare system, Musayev expressed interest in strengthening cooperation between the ministries of health of the two countries.
In conclusion, the minister expressed hope for further successful development of cooperation in the field of healthcare, medical science and other spheres.
In turn, Auld noted that the UK pays special attention to relations with Azerbaijan.
There are all the necessary tools for interaction in the field of medical education to improve the efficiency of the healthcare system in our countries.
Auld also stressed the need to further expand cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UK in the post-COVID period.
During the meeting, held in the spirit of constructive dialogue and mutual understanding, the sides discussed the current Azerbaijan-UK cooperation in the field of healthcare, medical science, and the potential for its development.
