German envoy calls Karabakh's reconstruction “project for generations”
KARABAKH 30 November 2022 - 13:20
German ambassador to Azerbaijan Ralf Horlemann has said that the reconstruction of Karabakh is a "project for generations".
One of the main conditions for any investment is reliability, he said, adding that Karabakh, for example, has many opportunities, but there is still a mine danger there, Report informs.
"Demining will take a long time, so I think that it should be taken into account by any investor."
Speaking about the potential of the Middle Corridor, the ambassador added that South Caucasus countries should improve their infrastructure, and offer attractive conditions for investors to fully exploit their potential as a trade hub.
"Germany is part of the European Union. When I talk about Germany I am talking about Europe. The Asian market is very important for Europe. There is a lot of trade here, mainly from east to west, but also a lot from west to east. In the past, most of the trade flows went through Russia; now this figure is decreasing, and this is a new opportunity for the South Caucasus countries," the ambassador noted.
