Azerbaijan unveils number of its students in earthquake zone in Türkiye

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Türkiye Rashad Mammadov has said that many Azerbaijani students are studying in the Turkish districts mainly affected as a result of the earthquake.
“There are students who are studying in two provinces - Mersin and Elazig, which were less affected by the earthquake,” Mammadov told APA.
“However, there are also many Azerbaijani students. About 700-800 Azerbaijani students are in these provinces. If they want to leave, they will be evacuated. There are 100 Azerbaijani students in Kahramanmaras, 27 in Hatay, 4 in Adiyaman, 35 in Osmaniye, 26 in Diyarbakir, 212 in Elazig, 14 in Urfa, 1 in Zonguldak, 86 in Gaziantep, 169 in Adana, 2 in Kilis, 136 in Malatya. The corresponding services are doing their best to keep in touch with everyone. All appeals received by the Operational Headquarters are considered," he added.
