President Aliyev: Azerbaijan has big plans for underground development

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said that Azerbaijan has big plans for the development of the underground.

President Aliyev made these remarks at a meeting with the heads of leading German companies in Berlin on March 13, according to Azertag.

The president noted that Azerbaijan is one of the few countries of the former Soviet Union that continue the construction of the underground.

“After the collapse of the USSR [Union of Soviet Socialist Republics], this work ceased in many countries. However, we have a strategy, and now we are working on integrating our public transport with the underground. We have come close to the introduction of a unified public transport system,” the president added.
