Azerbaijan seizes over 41 kg of drugs, detains Iranian citizens on border

Two unknown persons violated the state border in the direction from Iran to Azerbaijan at 00:30 on March 26 in the service territory of the border outpost located near the Jalilabad district's Shatrili village, the Goytepe border detachment of the State Border Service's border troops.

As a result of the border operational search measures, the violators were detained. During the investigation, it was established that the detainees were Iranian citizens, Germi residents, the State Border Service told Caliber.Az.

During the inspection, 41.37 kg of narcotic drugs, a knife and a tear canister were found and seized from them.

Operational and investigative measures into the case are ongoing.
