US remains committed to preventing Iran's nuclear warhead development, says top general
US Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley said "the United States remains committed to preventing Iran from having a nuclear warhead."
According to him, the Pentagon has prepared a range of options for the use of military force against Iran in the event that Tehran decides to proceed with the production of nuclear weapons.
"The US military has developed numerous options for consideration by the national leadership if or when Iran decides to develop a nuclear warhead," Milley said at a hearing in the Senate Armed Forces Committee of the US Congress on March 28, per TASS.
According to the military commander, "Iran is also taking steps to improve its ability to produce a nuclear warhead."
"Iran can produce enough nuclear material for [one] warhead in less than two weeks after the decision [to proceed with the development of atomic weapons]. And then it will take [Iran] only a few months to produce a nuclear warhead directly," Milley said.
According to him, "American policy is that the United States remains committed to preventing Iran from getting a nuclear warhead."
