Pakistan’s FM visits China for talks on Iran war, regional tensions
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has travelled to China as Islamabad intensifies diplomatic efforts to help ease tensions surrounding the war in Iran.
During his visit, Dar met with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, to discuss the conflict, broader regional instability and bilateral relations between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
According to China’s Foreign Ministry, Beijing and Islamabad share similar positions on major international and regional issues. China said it was “deeply saddened” by damage to historical sites amid the fighting and reiterated its call for restraint.
Beijing urged the warring parties — particularly the United States and Israel — to immediately halt military operations. It also said it firmly opposes attacks on nuclear facilities and warned against further escalation.
China stated it would continue diplomatic efforts to help cool tensions and promote a return to peace. The Foreign Ministry also thanked relevant parties for assisting Chinese vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, noting that three Chinese ships had recently passed through the strategic waterway.
