Russian leader: Azerbaijan earns authority on world stage

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the Independence Day – May 28.

Caliber.Az reports, citing the letter as saying:

"Dear Ilham Heydarovich, Please accept my sincere congratulations on the national holiday of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Independence Day. Azerbaijan has achieved great success in the social and economic spheres, has earned authority on the world stage, and plays an active role in addressing many topical issues on the international agenda.

Russian-Azerbaijani relations have risen to the level of allied cooperation, and bilateral cooperation in various areas is developing dynamically. I am confident that with joint efforts we will ensure the further development of the whole range of partnership relations for the benefit of our friendly peoples.

Dear Ilham Heydarovich, I sincerely wish you good health and success, and happiness and prosperity to the people of Azerbaijan.”
