International cycling race "Dear Shusha" in its second stage

An international cycling race has entered its second stage in Azerbaijan.

In this regard, the Azerbaijani State Traffic Police issued an appeal, Report says.

“The first stage of the international cycling ride 'Dear Shusha' organised by Azerbaijan’s Cycling Federation has ended. The competition's second stage begins today [June 8] in the Gabala district. The athletes will finish the second stage of the tournament in the Gabala district by driving along the route Gabala-Zaragan-Oghuz-Shaki and back. The bike ride will last from 10:30 to 15:00 [on June 8]," the statement said.

The international cycling race 'Dear Shusha' started on June 7 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, Azertag reports.

The first stage of the race co-organised by the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation and the Youth and Sports Ministry was held at the Velopark.

The opening ceremony was attended by Youth and Sport Minsiter Farid Gayibov and Azerbaijan Cycling Federation President Madat Guliyev.

The cyclists covered the distance of 150 km to cross the finish line in the district of Shamakhi. The race gathered over 16 teams of 100 cyclists from 14 countries. The race is considered a qualification tournament for the Paris-2024 Summer Olympics.
