British lord: Baku is good a friend of London

A member of the House of Lords (upper house) of the British Parliament - Baron David Howell has expressed support for Azerbaijan.

Baron Howell made the remarks at today's hearings on the situation in Garabagh, Caliber.Az reports, citing the page of the House of Lords in social network X.

“We also remember, my lord that one more intractable problem is the existence in Baku of thousands of displaced Azerbaijanis from the original struggle who have lost their lands, and they are living in extreme poverty and difficulty and are putting pressure understandably you get back and reclaim their properties.

So, that's one more angle which is important for our ministers to remember at the United Nations, and also of course that Azerbaijan has been a very good and supportive friend of the United Kingdom, and vice versa. They are important in the overall geopolitics of the region. And we should bear that in mind, as well of course as injustice and justice on both sides that's why it's intractable,” he said.
