Azerbaijan postpones trial of Armenian saboteur detained in Kalbajar

The trial on the criminal case of Armenian saboteur Voskanyan Gagik Ashotovich, detained in Kalbajar, has been postponed.

The trial presided over by Judge Abdulla Mammadov in Ganja Court of Grave Crimes has been postponed, APA reports.

The reason was that the accused was not brought to the court.

The court decided to hold the criminal case in the administrative building of Sabunchu District Court.

The session will be held on December 4.

To recap, the General Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case in connection with the violation of the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan on August 16 in the section of the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border passing through the territory of the Kalbajar district by a sabotage and reconnaissance group of the Armenian Armed Forces in order to carry out terrorist and sabotage operations.

Gagik Ashotovich Voskanyan, a serviceman of the Armenian Armed Forces, was charged with articles 206.3.2 (smuggling of firearms and ammunition by a group of pre-conspired persons), 214.2.1, 214.2.3 (terrorism using firearms by a pre-conspired group), 228.2.1 (pre-conspired illegal acquisition, transportation, storage of firearms by a group of persons), 283.2.1 (doing actions clearly aimed at inciting national enmity by using force)  and 318.2 (using force by a group of pre-conspired persons to destroy the state of the Republic of Azerbaijan) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code, and the court chose a measure of restraint in the form of arrest against him.
