French Polynesian leader seeks Azerbaijan’s support for decolonization efforts

30 May 2024 16:29

“We have reached the end of the legal process and need Azerbaijan’s support. We believe that independent Azerbaijan will convey our voice to the whole world. Because you understand very well what we are going through.”

Victor Maamaatuayahutapu, Secretary General of the Tavini Party and head of the French Polynesia delegation, told the conference in Baku titled “The right of French Polynesia to decolonization: Challenges and prospects,” Azertac reports.

He highlighted France's violation of the rights of peoples, stating, “French Polynesia is isolated as a colony, and the reason for this is only France.”
