Activist calling for Pashinyan's assassination detained in Armenia

An activist of the National Democratic Pole political movement Mushegh Shushanyan has been detained for calling for the physical destruction of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Caliber.Az reports with reference to Armenian media that according to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, on May 9, 2023 a video with the description: "Physical destruction of Nikol is unambiguously justified. Mushegh Shushanyan" was posted on the YouTube page of the movement. 

Then on September 22, on his social network page, Shushanyan wrote: "Armenian revival can start only under one condition - if kikol and the whole circle of those who sold the Motherland are spontaneously executed (the text and its spelling are quoted verbatim from the Investigative Committee's report - ed.)".

Another post by Shushanyan, according to the Investigative Committee, says: "Kill Kikol and anyone of his coterie wherever you see them, with all possible cruelty, but also with efficiency, so that they are not left alive. Police, State Security Council, I'm waiting for you, come and get me."

Shushanyan was detained and a criminal case was opened against him for calling for violence.
