Afghanistan, Uzbekistan sign deals worth over $100 million
Business representatives from Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have signed 13 investment and trade agreements valued at more than $100 million during a business forum held in Kabul.
The agreements were concluded at a gathering of private-sector leaders, business associations and official delegations from both countries, Caliber.Az reports per Uzbek media.
Officials said discussions focused on broadening bilateral trade, attracting investment and identifying new areas of economic partnership.
Afghan Industry and Commerce Minister Nooruddin Azizi said economic engagement between Kabul and Tashkent had “significantly intensified” in recent months, adding that Afghanistan was working to strengthen regional trade links and improve conditions for foreign investors.
Azizi also highlighted the country’s investment potential and expressed readiness to establish joint ventures with international partners.
The Uzbek delegation was led by Amanbai Orynbaev, Chairman of the parliament of Karakalpakstan and Deputy Chair of Uzbekistan’s Senate, who said Tashkent remained committed to expanding economic ties and described the newly signed agreements as an important step in regional cooperation.
Afghan officials said the total value of agreements between the two countries has now exceeded $1.5 billion. They expect the latest deals to further boost bilateral trade and support broader economic growth across the region.
