Air alerts declared in multiple regions in Ukraine

On the morning of February 20, a state of air alert was declared in eight regions of Ukraine and Kyiv, Caliber.Az reports citing the country's Ministry of Digital Transformation.

Sirens were heard in the regions of Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kirovograd, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy and Chernihiv.

The alarm was first sounded in the capital, and a few moments later the alert began to spread to other parts of the country.

The military warned of the threat of enemy missile attacks.

"Threat of use of ballistic weapons in areas where air alert has been declared! Do not ignore air alert signals!" the announcement said.
