American journalists visit Guba Genocide Memorial Complex PHOTO

A group of American journalists and media experts visited the Guba Genocide Memorial Complex.

The guests visited the monument erected at the burial site of the victims of the genocide committed by the criminal Armenian military units in Guba in 1918 and were informed in detail about the genocide committed by the Armenian-Bolshevik formations, Report informs.

It was noted that the Guba Genocide Memorial Complex created with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was inaugurated on September 18, 2013. Here one can get information in several languages about the acts of genocide committed by Armenians against the Azerbaijani people in different regions of the republic in the last century.

On April 1, 2007, the Guba mass grave was discovered during excavation works. After that, the staff of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of ANAS conducted extensive research of the mass grave. As a result of the research, it was established that the burial was connected with the Armenian genocide against the local civilian population in 1918.

It should be noted that the delegation includes journalist Vusala Abbasova, who is continuing her studies at Yale University and works at the American bureau of the Report news agency, UN Arab News bureau chief Afram Kosafi, who has long worked as a war correspondent for the world's leading media organisations (Fox TV, CNN, Al Jazeera) in conflict zones in Afghanistan, Iraq and South Lebanon, correspondent of the influential television network of the Republic of Colombia (Caracol TV and Canal 1) in New York and the capital Washington, renowned blogger Paola Vargas, founder and editor-in-chief of Schirach Report Paolo von Schirach, photojournalist of the American Bureau of Anadolu Agency, founder of Turkish Journal Selcuk Adjar and president of RC Communications, renowned journalist and political commentator Calvin Darke.
