Americans in Beirut advised to seek shelter As countries evacuate citizens

The embassy shared a statement on its X account in this regard, Caliber.Az reports.

“Another reminder that US Embassy Beirut encourages those who wish to depart Lebanon to book any ticket available to them, even if that flight does not depart immediately or does not follow their first-choice route.
We recommend that US citizens who choose not to depart Lebanon prepare contingency plans for emergency situations and be prepared to shelter in place for an extended period of time,” the post by the embassy said.
At least 15 countries have previously urged their citizens to leave Lebanon. Many international airlines have suspended flights to the country. The United Kingdom has evacuated the families of its embassy staff in Beirut.
