Ankara reaffirms commitment to South Caucasus peace and stability
Türkiye’s National Security Council stated that its commitment to contributing to prosperity in the South Caucasus remains unchanged, noting that such prosperity will be possible only through ensuring peace and stability in the region.
As reported by domestic media, the statement was issued following the meeting of Türkiye’s National Security Council, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Participants reviewed “opportunities for bilateral and regional cooperation in light of the recent positive developments in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.”
The Council’s agenda also included discussions on the war between Russia and Ukraine, the situation in Sudan, Syria, and the broader Middle East.
Special attention was given to efforts aimed at completely removing the issue of terrorism from Türkiye’s agenda.
Regarding the situation in Ukraine, the statement underscored the importance of diplomatic efforts amid the risk of renewed escalation in the conflict zone. It also reaffirmed Türkiye’s determination to continue working toward a lasting and just peace.
