Another Russian drone found in Crocmaz village of Moldova PHOTO

On January 22, a Russian drone was discovered in Moldova’s village of Crocmaz in the Ștefan Vodă district.

According to a statement from the Moldovan police, the drone, approximately 2.5 meters long, was found in the garden of an abandoned rural house, Caliber.Az reports.

Locals noticed the device and immediately alerted law enforcement. Special services secured the area upon arrival. Police thanked residents for their vigilance and reminded the public to follow safety rules: do not approach, touch, or disassemble suspicious objects and report them immediately.

The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the incident as a serious violation of the country’s sovereignty, emphasising that such incidents threaten national security and denouncing Russia’s war against Ukraine. 

“Yet another drone of Russian origin has been identified in Moldova. Such incidents are unacceptable and violate our sovereignty and territorial integrity. Moldova strongly condemns Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and will continue to protect its citizens and territory,” the ministry stated.

Russian drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have repeatedly violated Moldovan airspace amid Moscow’s war against Ukraine, with several incidents in late 2025 prompting temporary closures of Moldovan airspace and heightened security responses. 

Moldovan authorities have publicly condemned these drone breaches as serious threats to national security and violations of the country’s sovereignty, leading to diplomatic protests and summoning of the Russian ambassador for explanations. 

Officials highlighted risks to civilian safety and underscored ongoing tensions as Russia’s military operations near Ukraine’s borders spill over.
