Armenia, NATO focus on security, stability, expanding cooperation
Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has held talks with Kevin Hamilton, NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, focusing on regional developments and the state of Armenia–NATO cooperation.
The meeting included an exchange of views on the regional situation and ongoing security challenges, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Pashinyan congratulated Hamilton on his appointment and underscored the importance of cooperation and close dialogue between Armenia and NATO aimed at strengthening security and stability in the region. The discussions covered a range of issues on the Armenia–NATO partnership agenda, including prospects for expanding cooperation and the “effective implementation of programs” in areas of “mutual interest.”
The sides also addressed regional security dynamics, existing challenges, and efforts directed toward ensuring peace and stability.
For his part, Hamilton stated that NATO attaches significant importance to its partnership with Armenia and expressed readiness to continue cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Earlier, the NATO representative also held meetings with the President of Armenia and the Secretary of the Security Council, as part of broader consultations during his visit.
