Armenian FM: New understanding reached on border delimitation with Azerbaijan
Armenia and Azerbaijan have reached a mutual understanding regarding the continuation of the border delimitation process, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan confirmed during a press conference.
"There is an understanding of how and where to continue the delimitation," Mirzoyan stated, adding that Yerevan and Baku are scheduled to hold the next round of talks on the border in January, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Mirzoyan further emphasized Armenia's need for the European Union's observation mission to continue monitoring the situation along the border with Azerbaijan until the delimitation process is fully completed.
"I believe it is important to highlight that the EU civilian mission observers remain stationed along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, which is a crucial factor.
We are convinced that as long as the border remains undelimitated between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the EU mission is vital and necessary for us," Mirzoyan noted.
The ongoing presence of the EU mission is viewed by Armenia as key to maintaining stability and facilitating the border delimitation process.
