Armenian servicemen undergo staff drills in Yerevan
Armenian army servicemen held joint staff exercises under the command of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Major-General Eduard Asryan, from August 23 to 25.
The exercises focused on "the work of the military command and control bodies of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia at the stage of deciding on a defensive operation and raising questions", Caliber.Az reports citing the Armenian media.
According to the Armenian Defence Ministry's Public Relations and Media Department, "the sequence of planned actions of structural units and military support units was determined, the actions of officials were checked in assessing the military-political situation, the plan for the use of the armed forces and adjusting the tasks of the troops.
During the training, the command staff’s abilities in the preparation and the conduct of hostilities were also assessed. The officers' skills in the planning and management of defensive operations were also checked and improved".
During the training, the operational task was studied, the current situation was assessed, and the officialisation of all necessary documents for command and control of troops was developed.
"Summing up the results of the training, Major-General Eduard Asryan hailed the readiness and combat effectiveness of the personnel, and gave appropriate instructions to the unit commanders," the Armenian Defence Ministry said in a statement.
