Azerbaijan, Albania forge enhanced cooperation in health sector
A promising collaboration in the healthcare sector was initiated as the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan hosted a delegation led by Albania's Minister of Health, Albana Koçiu.
During the meeting, Azerbaijan’s Health Minister Teymur Musayev praised the positive trajectory of bilateral relations between the two nations, citing regular presidential meetings and achieved agreements that have elevated Azerbaijani-Albanian relations to greater heights, the ministry told Caliber.Az.
Minister Musayev underscored the vast potential for enhanced cooperation in healthcare, emphasizing opportunities for exchanging modern methodological and scientific-practical information for continuous professional training of medical specialists. Additionally, he highlighted the potential for collaboration in medical tourism, considering the allure of mineral water springs and other resort resources in both countries.
Expressing optimism for future collaborations, Minister Musayev expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Albania.
In response, Albana Koçiu emphasized the historical foundation of friendly ties between the two countries. She highlighted the active cooperation between Albania and Azerbaijan within international organizations such as the UN and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Koçiu also emphasized the significance of the upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, scheduled to take place in Baku this November, and expressed hope for continued cooperation between the Ministries of Health of both countries.
