Azerbaijan detains Iraqi national for illegal border crossing from Armenia
The State Border Service of Azerbaijan has successfully detained a foreign national for crossing the country’s border from Armenia.
On September 1, signs of a border violation were detected in the area of responsibility of the Gubadli Separate Border Division of the Border Troops. The incident occurred in a challenging mountainous and densely forested area, Caliber.Az reports, citing the state service.
Following operational and military measures, authorities apprehended an Iraqi citizen, Ali Emad Attallah Badravi, born in 2002, who had illegally crossed into Azerbaijani territory.
The State Border Service confirmed that operational and investigative procedures are ongoing to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
The agency reiterated that measures to ensure the security and reliable protection of Azerbaijan’s state borders continue successfully.
