Azerbaijan, Egypt expand ties in health sphere PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Health Minister Teymur Musayev has received Egyptian Ambassador Hisham Mohamed Nagy.
Musayev welcomed the guests and stressed the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt, Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry’s press service.
The minister also noted the contribution of reciprocal high-level visits to expanding ties between the two countries and pointed to the wide potential for the development of relations between the two countries in the field of health.
"Cooperation with Egypt in the health policy and public health is carried out within the framework of cooperation of health structures at the international level - the World Health Organisation, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement. In addition, there are all the necessary conditions for the exchange of modern methodological and scientific-practical information in the field of continuous professional training of medical specialists,” the minister noted.
In addition, Musayev expressed his hope for further fruitful cooperation.
For his part, Ambassador Nagy stressed that Egypt attaches great importance to strengthening bilateral relations with Azerbaijan.
"Diplomatic relations between our countries were established in 1992, and during this period cooperation between Egypt and Azerbaijan has been growing,” he added.
Noting that special attention is paid to the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt, the ambassador expressed his country's interest in strengthening cooperation with Azerbaijan in this field.
New perspectives on the development and strengthening of cooperation in the field of healthcare and medical science were discussed during the meeting. In addition, discussions were held on the future signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of pharmaceuticals.
