Azerbaijan elected to Council of International Telecommunication Union
Romania’s capital Bucharest hosts a Plenipotentiary Conference of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) from September 26 through October 14.
The elections for the ITU Council for 2023-2026, as well as for the ITU Radio Regulations Board for 2023-2026 were held as part of the conference on October 3, 2022, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told APA.
“Proceeding from the results of elections held in fairly competitive conditions, Azerbaijan was elected member of the ITU Council with 154 votes, while Sahiba Hasanova, employee of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, was elected member of the ITU Radio Regulations Committee with 114 votes.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry expresses gratitude to all states that supported both candidacies,” the message says.
