Azerbaijan emerges as influential global player, says Speaker

Azerbaijan has grown into a country with a strong and influential voice on the broad international stage, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova said.

She made the remarks during a special parliamentary session on July 14, marking the anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s appointment as the leader of Azerbaijan in 1969, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

Gafarova emphasised that this transformation is the result of a long-term national strategy initiated by Heydar Aliyev and confidently continued by President Ilham Aliyev.

“The policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev will continue to bring success to the Azerbaijani state and its people in the years ahead,” the speaker added.
