Azerbaijan, EU discuss advancing strategic ties during Brussels visit
Azerbaijan and the European Union reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations during high-level meetings in Brussels, according to a statement by Azerbaijani Presidential Aide Hikmet Hajiyev.
Hajiyev met with European External Action Service (EEAS) Secretary Belen Martinez Carbonell and Deputy Secretary General Olof Skoog to review the current status of EU-Azerbaijan relations on May 23, the Azerbaijani official wrote on X, Caliber.Az reports.

The discussions focused on deepening cooperation in key strategic areas, building on the outcomes of President Ilham Aliyev’s recent talks with European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Tirana.
As part of the visit, Hajiyev and Skoog held the sixth round of the EU-Azerbaijan Security Dialogue. The talks covered bilateral, regional, and global security issues of mutual interest.
“As an important regional actor, Azerbaijan remains a reliable partner of the EU and is a Pan-European energy supplier,” Hajiyev wrote on X.
