Azerbaijan Grand Prix Formula 1 main stage kicks off in Baku
Today the seventh race weekend of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix F1 starts in Baku.
According to Caliber.Az, pilots will hold two races on the starting day. The practice session will be followed by qualifying in the afternoon. Its results will determine the order of the start of Sunday's race.
There will also be races in Formula 2. A practice session is scheduled in the morning, then the qualifying will take place.
The main streets of the Azerbaijani capital, where the races will be held, are closed to traffic. Protective barriers have been installed along the race track, and security measures have been strengthened.
The spectators will enjoy watching the races from the stands set up on Azadlig and Azneft squares, near the Maiden Tower, the Icheri Sheher (Old City) gates, and other historic parts of the city.
The race will kick off at Azadlig Square. The racers will travel around the historic city along the Caspian Sea and reach the finish line at Azadlig Square.
At the Baku stage of the race, Formula 1 cars will make 51 laps on the track with 20 turns and a total length of more than six kilometers.
