Azerbaijan initiates criminal case into explosion in Baku which claims 3 lives
Rescuers of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations have discovered 3 corpses at an explosion and fire site in a furniture workshop located in Binagadi district, Baku.
A joint statement by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan says that 24 more people received various injuries. Six of them received first aid on the scene, 18 people were taken to hospital, their conditions are assessed as stable, Caliber.Az reports.
A criminal case was initiated under Articles 225.3 (Violation of fire safety rules resulting in the unintentional death of two or more persons) and 314.3 (Negligence resulting in the death of two or more persons) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, investigation is underway, relevant examinations have been appointed.
On January 15, there was an explosion in a workshop in Binagadi district, Baku.
15 emergency teams were immediately involved in the incident.
Deputy Emergency Minister Etibar Rzayev, and Deputy Prosecutor General Elmar Jamalov arrived at the scene of an explosion accompanied by a fire in the workshop.
Due to the necessary and urgent measures taken by the emergency forces, the fire in the workshop has been localized.
