Azerbaijan introduces road tax for travellers passing country in transit

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved a law on amendments to the Tax Code.

According to the amendments, owners of vehicles registered in foreign countries that transit through Azerbaijan or persons driving these vehicles will be considered road taxpayers, Caliber.Az reports.

Until now, road taxpayers have been considered those who, being non-residents, entered the territory of Azerbaijan by vehicles and those who use the territory to transport passengers and goods.
