Azerbaijan may withdraw from Council of Europe

Official Baku intends to adequately respond to the decision of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) not to ratify the credentials of the Azerbaijani delegation.

APA reports that despite the fact that at yesterday's PACE meeting it was noted that the limitation of powers of the Azerbaijani delegation does not mean the termination of Azerbaijan's participation in other structures of the Council of Europe, Baku's position is different.

According to the information received by APA, Azerbaijan does not intend to put up with this unfair and biased attitude, and currently official Baku is considering the procedure of withdrawal not only from PACE, but also from the Council of Europe as a whole. Azerbaijan may also refuse to recognize the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights.
