Baku, Seoul talk over preparations for joint commission meeting

On July 31, 2025, Azerbaijan and South Korea announced plans to hold the next meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation in Baku.

Azerbaijan's Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, shared this update on the social media platform X, following his meeting with Kang Kimgu, South Korea’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports.

During the discussions, both sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digitalisation.

They also addressed the organisation of direct flights between the two countries and explored opportunities for South Korean companies to participate in projects within Azerbaijan.

In a related development, Minister Nabiyev also met with Amy Carlon, the Chargé d’Affaires at the United States Embassy in Azerbaijan.

The meeting focused on transport issues, the development of the Middle Corridor, and prospects for freight transportation along this route.

The parties further exchanged opinions on telecommunications, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, human capital development, and the enhancement of cooperation with American companies.
