Azerbaijan, Hungary gear up for economic talks in Budapest
Azerbaijan’s Finance Minister and co-chairman of the Azerbaijani-Hungarian Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, Sahil Babayev, has met with Hungarian Ambassador Tamás Torma to discuss preparations for the upcoming session of the Commission.
The 11th session of the Azerbaijani-Hungarian Joint Commission is scheduled to take place in Budapest in September 2025, with a wide-ranging agenda focused on enhancing bilateral ties across multiple sectors, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Minister Babayev expressed confidence that the forthcoming meeting would yield tangible outcomes and further strengthen Azerbaijani-Hungarian relations. He highlighted the potential for deeper cooperation in a broad array of areas including trade, business and investment, energy, labour and social protection, science and education, healthcare, tourism, food security, urban development, water resources management, and diaspora affairs.
Ambassador Torma reaffirmed Hungary’s commitment to the strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, emphasizing that the strong and friendly bilateral relationship continues to expand steadily. He noted the growing momentum in economic and diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
The sides underscored the importance of the Joint Commission in fostering comprehensive collaboration and acknowledged the mutual support Azerbaijan and Hungary have demonstrated within international organizations and at global events. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further intensify intergovernmental cooperation through the mechanisms of the Commission.
