Azerbaijan, Mongolia strengthen prosecutorial ties at international conference in Baku PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev has met with a delegation led by Mongolia’s Prosecutor General Jargalsaikhan Munkhnasan as part of the 29th Annual Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP), ongoing in Baku.
Azerbaijan continues to hold bilateral meetings with delegations from various international organizations and foreign states with the framework of the conference, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
During the meeting, Aliyev emphasized the mutual trust and friendship between Azerbaijan and Mongolia, noting that these strong relations provide a foundation for further development of political, economic, and cultural ties, which are rooted in deep historical connections. He also gave a detailed account of the measures being taken in Azerbaijan to combat crime.
Aliyev touched on the historical significance of Azerbaijan hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). He announced that on November 15, the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan, in collaboration with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), would organize a high-level plenary session on "Mobilizing Law Enforcement for Enhanced Climate Action," and extended an invitation to the Mongolian delegation to participate.
He also highlighted the importance of sharing experiences and reciprocal visits between the prosecutorial offices of both nations, reinforcing the strong ties with Mongolia’s prosecution service.
Mongolia’s Prosecutor General expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and praised the reforms being implemented within Azerbaijan’s prosecutorial system. He also recognized the strong relationship between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries. Munkhnasan congratulated Kamran Aliyev on Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor's Day, celebrated on October 1, and the 106th anniversary of the founding of the Azerbaijani prosecutor's office.
