Azerbaijan, Qatar deepen healthcare ties in high-level meeting

Azerbaijan’s Health Ministry has welcomed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar Mohammed Hamad Saad Al Fuhaid AlHajri for a high-level meeting focused on expanding cooperation in the healthcare sector.

During the meeting, Azerbaijan’s Health Minister Teymur Musayev underscored the growing strength of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar, the Azerbaijani Health Ministry told Caliber.Az. 

He pointed out that frequent high-level visits between the two countries have significantly contributed to deepening mutual ties. 

Musayev highlighted the untapped potential for collaboration in the field of healthcare, emphasising the favourable conditions that exist for exchanging modern scientific, methodological, and practical knowledge.

He particularly noted the importance of cooperation in continuous professional education for medical personnel.

“We see great promise in expanding our partnership with Qatar in the areas of medical training, research, and health system development,” Musayev stated, expressing confidence in the future of bilateral efforts in the health sector. 

The ambassador echoed this sentiment, describing the relationship between Azerbaijan and Qatar as one founded on historical and traditionally friendly ties. He reaffirmed Qatar’s interest in broadening cooperation in healthcare and medical science. 

The meeting also featured a productive exchange of views on enhancing the training of qualified healthcare professionals and exploring additional avenues of collaboration. Both sides expressed a shared commitment to strengthening their partnership in health-related initiatives, reflecting a broader diplomatic effort to deepen strategic ties between Baku and Doha.
