Azerbaijan, Russia discuss expanding healthcare cooperation
Azerbaijan and Russia have discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector during a visit to Baku by Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko.
According to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Health, Murashko led a Russian delegation that met with Azerbaijani Health Minister Teymur Musaev to review existing cooperation and explore opportunities for further collaboration, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
During the meeting, Musaev said Azerbaijan and Russia already cooperate in a number of areas and stressed the importance of strengthening ties in healthcare.
He highlighted opportunities to expand cooperation in medical education, the training and professional development of healthcare personnel, scientific research, digital healthcare and public health.
Murashko said Russia attaches great importance to developing cooperation with Azerbaijan in the healthcare sector. He noted that exchanging experience, implementing joint scientific and practical projects, and strengthening cooperation between medical specialists would help improve the healthcare systems of both countries.
The two ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence that healthcare cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia would continue to develop.
