Azerbaijan, Russia strengthen ties in high-level prosecutor talks PHOTO

Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev received Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Pyotr Gorodov during his visit, highlighting the dynamic development of friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries, driven by joint efforts and the political will of both heads of state.

Officials noted that the high level of strategic partnership and ongoing interstate dialogue provides a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation in political, economic, transport-logistics, and humanitarian spheres. Such relations are also important for strengthening ties between law enforcement and prosecutorial bodies, Caliber.Az reports via the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Expressing gratitude for the hospitality, Gorodov emphasised the strong relationship between the prosecutorial authorities of both countries. He praised the professional and thorough handling of criminal case requests and highlighted that, in a case originating many years ago in Russia, Azerbaijan initiated criminal proceedings and held the perpetrators accountable.

Gorodov also invited Azerbaijan to participate in major international events scheduled for this year.

In response, Aliyev stressed the importance of developing international initiatives and maintaining partnerships for the work of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Both sides expressed confidence that the close cooperation and friendly relations between the Azerbaijani and Russian prosecutorial authorities will continue to develop successfully across all areas.
