The main air harbour of Azerbaijan has once again been awarded the prestigious "Best Airport in Central Asia and the CIS" award according to the authoritative international agency Skytrax World Airport Awards 2022. This award for airports is a quality benchmark for the industry, Caliber.Az reports.
Also, for the first time this year, Baku Airport won another important nomination - "The Best Airport Personnel in Central Asia and the CIS".
"We are pleased that the high-class service provided by Heydar Aliyev International Airport to its passengers has once again received the highest rating. The presented awards once again confirm the recognition by foreign colleagues of our merits and contribution to the development of Azerbaijan's aviation industry," Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) President Jahangir Asgarov said.
The 2022 Skytrax awards are based on the World Airport Survey conducted in over 100 countries during eight months from 2021 through 2022. The survey assessed the quality of passenger service and services at airports.
Among them, key performance indicators are passenger check-in, arrivals and transfers, security control, shopping, passport control and departure. The Skytrax World Airport Awards is one of the most prestigious awards in the world of civil aviation. The airport rating is formed through a service quality assessment study, airports are evaluated according to numerous criteria.
The inspection and award are independent of airport control or intervention and thus provide an objective assessment of an airport's superiority and quality.
