Azerbaijan's MFA marks Baku's liberation as pivotal moment in fight for independence

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared a post on the social media platform X on the occasion of the 107th anniversary of Baku's liberation from the Armenian–Dashnak occupation.

“On this day in 1918, the Islamic Army of the Caucasus, which included the Azerbaijani Corps, entered Baku, putting an end to the Armenian–Dashnak occupation,” Caliber.Az quotes the ministry as saying in a post on its X page.

“The liberation of the capital was a turning point in the struggle for Azerbaijan’s statehood, demonstrating the unity, courage, and sacrifice of our people and their allies. 107 years on, we honor with deep gratitude the memory of all who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our nation,” the ministry wrote.
