Azerbaijan’s military collaboration with NATO deepens with new training course PHOTO
As part of the 2024 cooperation and partnership program between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence and NATO, a mobile training group from NATO's Joint Force Command, based in Brunssum, conducted a training course in Baku.
Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence told Caliber.Az that the course, held at the War Games Centre of the Institute of Military Management at the National Defence University, focused on operational and tactical exercises related to planning and execution.
At the conclusion of the course, a briefing was held to discuss the tasks and goals accomplished during the training. Speakers emphasized the significance of such courses in enhancing military cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO.
Certificates were presented to participants at the end of the training.
Azerbaijan's long-standing partnership with NATO spans over three decades, growing stronger through strategic military, political, and security collaboration. Most recently, NATO officials visited Baku for an academic conference marking the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s participation in NATO's Partnership for Peace program. NATO reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s role as a reliable partner, particularly in supporting NATO-led operations and contributing to regional energy security.
Azerbaijan has actively participated in NATO missions in Afghanistan and Kosovo, playing a vital role in supporting the alliance’s security objectives. Given its strategic location and energy resources, Azerbaijan remains a key player in ensuring the energy security of NATO members.
Ongoing discussions between NATO and Azerbaijani officials highlight prospects for deeper collaboration, particularly in military operations, energy security, and mutual strategic interests. This partnership is expected to strengthen further as regional security challenges evolve.
